Trim Engineer – Automotive

Position Description and Responsibilities:

  • Execute Seat Trim development primarily in-house & in some cases with supplier as per Project scope
  • Prepare and monitor timeline for trim development activities
  • Define/approve Trim attachment methods which are cost effective & promote ease of assembly
  • Close coordination with Complete Seat, Seat Structure, Styling colleagues
  • Participate/arrange Seat Build events (internal/customer/supplier) for Craftsmanship approvals
  • Approve master patterns to/from supplier
  • Initiate & execute Engineering Change requests for Trim parts
  • Documentation & release of Trim parts as needed

 

Qualifications:

  • Any discipline Graduate with experience in Seat Trim Development (+ Fashion Design/technology course)
  • Minimum of 8 years of experience
  • 5-7 years of Relevant Experience in Trim Development for Seats
  • Soft Trim Development – Fabric, Vinyl and Leather
  • Knowledge in Pattern development for class-A surface, various trim attachment concepts
  • Understanding of Trim process: Cut and Sew, trim operations, production level cover development
  • Experience in coordinating with Styling/Supplier/Customer for tone, grain texture of the soft trims
  • Experience in Fine-tuning for Quality, Consumption Optimization
  • Product knowledge of automotive/commercial Seating System
  • Experience in Digital Trim Development software would be preferred
  • Working Experience in CAD system would be an added advantage
  • Strong interpersonal skills to work effectively with customers, suppliers and cross functional teams

NPD Engineering Manager

NEW PRODUCT DEVELOPMENT (NPD) ENGINEERING MANAGER

 

JOB DESCRIPTION

  • Provide technical and professional leadership to a team of NPD Engineers
    • Design, develop, test and release safety products
    • Establish technical requirements documents
    • Utilize DFMEAs to lead development process
    • Develop and execute test and validation plans
  • Interface with customers to qualify and release product
  • Support and bring leadership to regular design reviews and peer reviews
  • Lead problem-solving and continuous-improvement activities
  • Provide interface leadership across Purchasing, Manufacturing & Quality competencies
  • Build alliances and processes that support a strong interface with ManufacturingEngineering to ensure robust DFM and product launches
  • Lead development teams by delegating work and prioritizing tasks
  • Drive accountability and ownership to support On-Time/Cost/Spec product execution
  • Establish and implement processes and procedures that improve product designefficiencies and reliability

QUALIFICATION

 

  • Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineer or Mechanical Engineering Technology
  • Minimum 10 years of restraints product development experience
  • Supervisory experience required
  • Knowledge of seat belts strongly preferred
  • Strong problem solving skills Six Sigma preferred
  • Experience using DFMEAs to drive design and validation requirements
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills

Prototype Manager

This person will coordinate work between engineering needs and the workers. Really wants someone that can expand their new technology, someone very proactive and loves new technology.

– CNC machining for metal and plastic/other material components (small quantities)

– Maintaining production tools (Injection molds)

– Fabricate tube, sheet metal for seating and other products

– 3D printing for plastic components

– Standard samples for Customers (Buckles with webbing etc).

 

Briefly we are looking for someone who has background in various Prototype shop manufacturing processes (CNC, 3D printing, tube bending and shear, EDM and others) and isin tune with advancementsin quick turnaround prototyping methods.
