Environmental Health & Safety Manager


$90-110K + bonus

This individual will be responsible for directing the environmental, health, and safety functions at multiple sites working from a corp location in Western NC supporting all respective EH&S goals and objectives. This is a strategic industrial fabrication manufacturing business with annual revenue over $50M focused primarily on durable metals for the energy, cement, and paper industries, and similar. This individual will lead all EH&S generalist duties for a heavy metals welding and grinding fabrication process. This person will also be responsible for waste water and air regulatory and compliance along with full safety program implementation and compliance regarding reporting, workers compensation, hearing conservation, accident reduction, OSHA program training, hazardous waste reporting and disposal, as well as guarding, electrical, PPE, etc This individual must be also strong with cost improvement initiatives must be driven through continuous improvement practices utilizing sound lean principles along with total employee involvement throughout the organization. Key responsibilities include developing best in class safety programs and environmental compliance. treatment. This position reports directly to the President.


REQUIREMENTS: Must have a Bachelors Degree in related field, prefer BSME, BS in Construction, Industrial Engineering, or Safety Engineering / Environmental and five to six years manufacturing experience or equivalent demonstrating strong results in Safety and Environmental implementation. Strong experience preferred also in Workers Compensation, premium reduction plans, DOT experience, and reporting. Must have extensive lean manufacturing problem solving with a proven ability to present safety presentations to large customers, marketing company safety standards, and enhancing safety plans and training improvements. Must have strong and confident communication skills, problem solving skills, and leadership skills, and proven ability to work in a team environment. Prefer someone who has a proven background with strong results as a generalist in EH&S as well. This person must process the inherent skills to drive change, must be strategic yet tactical, and creative yet fundamental, and able to work in difficult and timely situations well.
