  • The Global Strategic Sourcing Manager Motors with a technical expertise in motor sourcing. This person will lead cost reduction efforts including, but not limited to, VAVE, negotiations, and best cost region sourcing. Includes management of supply, and development of overall CMCO global sourcing / procurement strategies.
    Key Accountabilities:
    Development of global commodity strategies that enable the identification and sourcing of suppliers, products, and services at best-in-class quality, price, delivery, and service levels.

    Overall responsibility for the development and management of the CMCO Electric Motor Supply Base – specific to Low Volume/High Mix, AC and DC Motors, brakes and related components.

    VAVE Leadership and VAVE Execution; coordinate efforts with Product Management, Engineering, and Quality in order to drive strategic procurement decisions globally.

    Lead cross-functional teams to develop category strategies to achieve total value improvement, cost optimization, and overall supply base rationalization. Manage and drive year-over-year cost improvement.

    Develop category source plan and lead resources in the identification of potential suppliers, requirements documentation, RFI and RFQs, bid and price analysis, negotiation, contract awards, and supplier performance management consistent with CMCO terms & conditions.

    Analysis of market conditions and supplier quality and delivery performance to determine present and future material availability and pricing.

    Regular communication of this information to internal stakeholders and the development of solutions that mitigate risks associated with any bottlenecks or constraints.

    Design, implementation, management, and monitoring of procurement reporting systems to meet company requirements and improve sourcing / procurement processes.

    Technical subject matter expertise in Global electric motor sourcing for low volume, high mix environments.

    Competencies:
    Excellent written and verbal communication skills including the ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, engineering drawings, technical procedures, and governmental regulations.

    Must have the ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedures in a clear and professional manner and effectively present information to managers, clients, customers, and the general public using MS Office communication tools such as Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.

    The ability to solve complex problems and deal with a variety of variables in situations where only limited standardization exists is a core part of this role.

    To perform this job successfully, an individual should have the ability to manipulate and summarize large quantities of data. Knowledge and experience with MS Excel or similar spreadsheet / database software is a necessity. Proficiency with MS Office applications is expected. Knowledge / experience with ERP, MRP, and project management software would be a plus.
