$100-120K CAD + Bonus

The Director of Supply Chain will lead us to the next stage of growth and success specifically focusing on the development of sourcing strategies that support company goals. The selected candidate will be a highly accomplished supply chain professional with deep knowledge and experience within a fast-paced manufacturing environment. S/he must also be financially astute, possess strong business acumen and strong analytical skills. This individual will be expected to build and maintain strong lines of communication within the organizational structure while also building a strong procurement team to ensure long-term growth potential and success.

The Director of Supply Chain will have responsibility for procurement and inventory of the entire product line and will ensure that the company sourcing programs and initiatives are effective, efficient, and aligned with overall business objectives. This position has several directs reports. We are a highly collaborative environment and as such the Director of Supply Chain will work closely with operations, sales, and finance in the contribution of new ideas, strategies, and results. This opportunity provides great growth potential with greater scope of responsibility for the right individual.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

Knowledge

  • Serve as a key member of the management team that sets the companys strategic direction
  • Formulate long-term objectives and standards of performance for the department
  • Lead the supply chain team in executing best practices and measuring performance through agreed upon Key Performance Indicators (KPIs).
  • Develops policies to increase efficiency throughout the supply chain while ensuring quality and safety; implements subsequent changes to processes.
  • Evaluate supplier core competencies and competitive positioning using industry cost models
  • Monitor the performance of suppliers, assessing their ability to meet quality and delivery requirements; identifies and qualifies new suppliers in collaboration with other departments.
  • Motivate staff and provide direction and guidance, as well as hands-on project management, recognizing the role as that of both manager and support resource/mentor
  • Hire and direct staff to acquire necessary resources to meet scheduled commitments

 

Problem Solving

  • Analyze industry trends and evolving technology to proactively identify supply base issues to minimize risk, protect continuity of supply, and utilize emerging opportunities
  • Analyzes current inventories and procedures; suggests improvements to increase efficiency of supply chain and profitability for the company.

Collaboration

  • Actively partner with suppliers & logistics partners to strengthen & sustain relationships, maintain open communication, & ensure prompt resolution of issues
  • Strategically coordinate with the Leadership Team in continued development of enthusiastic and knowledgeable teams.
  • Acts as part of the team coordinating engineering changes, product line extension, or new product launches to ensure timely and orderly material and production flow transitions.

QUALIFICATIONS:

 

  • Strong management and leadership experience
  • Excellent interpersonal and negotiation skills with a proven ability to create and maintain positive working relationships with vendors, suppliers, shippers, and customers.
  • Demonstrated use of technology to drive the business
  • Ability to manage projects and establish clear goals and accountabilities to ensure successful delivery
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills; able to present and train.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.

EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE:

  • Minimum of a Bachelor’s degree (or equivalent)
  • 8 10 years progressive Supply Chain experience
  • Manufacturing industry experience
