Production Manager


$100-110K + Bonus

This position is responsible for overseeing and leading all aspects of our consumer products business in Jefferson City, TN and Morristown, TN. This includes all production activities. This role is also accountable for adhering to quality standards, partnering with quality and training multiple customer-facing departments as to the production machines capabilities and product features and benefits. This position is a cross-functional role, which requires working closely with product development, customers, suppliers, purchasing and the sales teams to ensure financial success.

This position also leads the continues improvement in safety, quality, on-time delivery, supply chain and production of operations including profit and loss responsibility. In addition, this position manages labor and expenses in line with budget and plant volume.

Key Areas of Responsibility

  • Leads and directs optimum day-to-day operations to meet and exceed planned deliverables.
  • Fosters a behavioral based safety first culture through training, evaluation and continual focus.
  • Knowledge of industry manufacturing trends with a critical eye on new materials, technology and innovation
  • Responsible for all pre-press operations
  • Leads and utilizes Lean Manufacturing, Daily Management and 5-S concepts to continuously drive out waste and improve manufacturing performance and workplace organization
  • Hire, train, recognize, and motivate employees in accordance with our core values and company policies and practices.
  • Manage labor and spending to budget and in relation to changes in production volume
  • Leads by example and creates and maintains strong partnerships and positive relationships with internal and external parties through open communication, transparency and performance measurement/feedback. Facilitates cooperation and motivates employees to accomplish group goals


Experience & Attributes


  • Proven success in the label, adhesive and printing industries
  • Must have 3 5 years flexographic label experience with 3 years manager, supervisor level responsibility
  • Comfort in evolving an already successful, industry-leading business
  • Must be able to maintain a calm and professional composure at all times
  • Ability to apply creative problem solving techniques to situations using sound business judgment
  • Proven ability to apply attention to detail, role-related accuracy and task follow-through
  • Proficient with computer applications (e.g., Microsoft Office, Microsoft Outlook, Auto CAD, ), internet (e.g., online chat, e-commerce sites, etc.) as well as navigating in sales/inventory management tools.
  • Possess a history of developing and organizing functional teams.



  • Bachelors degree in Engineering, Finance or Operations preferred
  • 5 plus years manufacturing experience with 5+ of those years spent in managerial positions in a paper/printing environment, at least three in flexographic
  • Must be experience managing up to 100 plus employees, shift responsibility
  • Must be familiar with Lean Manufacturing and other current manufacturing concepts, practices, and procedures
  • Must demonstrate excellent leadership, communication, and team building skills
  • Strong business acumen (management principles, strategic planning, critical thinking, budgeting, resource allocation, human resources, etc.)
