The CMP Solutions Engineer will work closely with customer technology engineers in field, R&D scientists, and manufacturing teams to develop and transfer creative and robust CMP solutions to address customers unmet needs. The candidate must be a self-driven, hands-on, and committed problem solver, with the ability to communicate effectively and work cross-functionally with minimal supervision. The candidate is also expected to be very flexible for various tasks with ability to drive and achieve set goals and objectives to grow CMC business.

The key responsibilities of the CMP Solutions Engineer:

  • Utilize knowledge of semiconductor CMP process to interpret the voice of customer (VoC) and critical to quality (CTQs) for problem definition
  • Work with cross-functional teams to develop hypothesis & working model for a solution
  • Plan, execute, and own polishing experiments designed together with others
  • Analyze experiments with statistical analysis tool (JMP) and derive conclusion with confidence
  • Communicate key learning and conclusions to various stakeholders clearly and timely
  • Develop practical and creative engineering solutions to accelerate customer adoption process
  • Prepare data package that defines the solution and then promote the solution both internally and to the customer
  • Grow expert knowledge about leading-edge CMC technology and products
  • Stay current on CMP technology

Required Qualifications:

Technical in-depth understanding of CMP process and impact of CMP consumables (slurry, pads, conditioning disk, etc.,) to CMP performance. Strong knowledge on at least one (1) CMP application. Demonstrated ability to work on complex projects in team environment and lead development of engineering solutions for end user (customer). Solid track record of problem-solving and ability to work on a breadth of technical problems with sound methodologies (6-sigma, 8-D, etc.). Demonstrated project management skill and knowledge of semiconductor device and integration scheme.

Computer Proficient in Microsoft Windows environment – Word, Excel, Powerpoint, Microsoft office 365

Education A bachelor degree in technical discipline (e.g., chemistry, material science, chemical engineering or related field) is required, an advanced degree is a plus.

Experience a minimum of 7 years of working experience in CMP related/semiconductor fabrication in device manufacturing is required

Travel – 10-20%
