V.P. Engineering

Central Florida


The incumbent will provide overall leadership for a multi-functional engineering team that is responsible for new technology and product development, ensuring effective manufacturing introduction, and supporting new business development. The V.P will also serve as a member of the senior leadership team, providing key perspectives and knowledge in the support of business strategies and plans. A collaborative relationship between Engineering, Sales, Marketing, and Operations will be an essential ingredient for success.


The Vice President of Engineering will:

  • Understand the product development needs of the company while developing and implementing the appropriate capabilities, systems, and capacities required to execute.
  • Work with sales and marketing on the development and support of new business proposals, new product roadmaps, and the development of technology strategies.
  • Participate as needed in customer visits and business development activities.
  • Ensure full compliance to all applicable requirements, regulations, and specifications imposed by the company, the customer and/or the industry.
  • Challenge the status quo, evolving the culture and practices within the engineering team in support of the performance objectives of the company.
  • Ensure that new products developed and introduced into production are reliable, manufacturable, cost-effective, well documented, and stable.
  • Establish overall direction while creating and implementing a vision for continual improvement of engineering services at a detail level as well as higher organizational level; works with others to establish methodologies to resolve process issues
  • Manage all aspects of product development cycle within operational budgets and functional goals of the facility.
  • Provide people leadership focused upon personal and collective accountability while fostering an environment that enhances personal growth and career development through mentoring and training; performance management, and challenging the organization to strive for higher performance levels.
  • Build a reputation for the engineering organization of high integrity, competitive leadership, and sustained performance by delivering quality product on a timely basis
  • Develop clear and effective performance metrics for the engineering organization as a whole, as well as individuals, measuring the effectiveness; using metric trends and data to drive the business and decisions therein
  • Act as a key member of the senior management team by facilitating an understanding of market and technology realities and possibilities, therefore helping the company to meet and exceed its near and long-term objectives.

Candidate Profile



This position will provide overall leadership and management of activities associated with all functional engineering disciplines employed to support our products and services. This activity includes the design and development of an Engineering team to meet strategic goals & objectives while contributing significantly to key business drivers such as Innovation, Delivery, Quality and Competitiveness positioning.




  • At least 15 years professional experience in total; 10 or more of which should be in managing product development teams in a functional management role.
  • Experience leading the design of product within a manufacturing environment, with responsibility for Product Roadmaps and New Product Introduction (NPI).
  • Experience required in the development and support of technical proposals and/or business solutions.
  • Majority of experience in Defense or Aerospace industry, with particular experience in the design and manufacture of Avionics and/or Aircraft control systems.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead and develop a high performance design and development team (hardware and software).
