Plant Manager

$80-95K + bonus

The Plant Manager is responsible for overseeing and leading all aspects of plant operations, this is a non-union facility. This includes manufacturing, manufacturing support, and distribution activities. The Plant Manger leads continuous improvement plant operations along with direct reports including safety, quality, supply chain, and production of operations at a full P&L level. In addition, this position manages labor and expenses in line with budget and plant volume.

 

The Plant Manager will team with the companys sales force to provide high levels of customer delight by maintaining excellent customer service levels. In addition, the Plant Manager must demonstrate and encourage the practice of core values and represent the company fostering good community relations.

 

Key Areas of Responsibility

  • Leads and directs optimum day-to-day operations to meet and exceed when possible planned deliverables.
  • Fosters a behavioral based safety first culture through training, evaluation and continual focus. Ensures facility and employees compliance with federal, state and local EH&S laws and regulations
  • Leads plans and processes which minimize manufacturing costs through effective utilization of manpower, equipment, facilities, materials, and capital
  • Leads and utilizes Lean Manufacturing, Daily Management and 5-S concepts to continuously drive out waste and improve manufacturing performance and workplace organization
  • Hire, train, recognize, and motivate employees in accordance with our core values and company policies and practices.
  • Leads the continuous improvement process and other operations tool sets to provide customer focused process improvement aimed at eliminating variation in the production process
  • Manage labor and spending to budget and in relation to changes in production volume
  • Optimize inventories through effective replenishment strategies to optimize inventory turns and efficient lead times to service customers.
  • Assist in the development of strategic objectives, annual business plans, capital budgets and operating budgets

Facilitates cooperation and motivates employees to accomplish group goals

  • Establish and maintain necessary facility operation policies and procedures sufficient to ensure on-time delivery of cost effective quality products
  • Support Sales during customer visits/tours
  • Maintain and adhere to a Quality Management System in the plant that meets the requirements of ISO 9001-2000

Qualifications:

  • Bachelors degree in Engineering, Finance or Operations
  • 10 to 15 years manufacturing experience with 5+ of those years spent in managerial positions.
  • Lean Manufacturing and other current manufacturing concepts, practices, and procedures
  • Ability to coordinate plant activities and create material, manufacturing and communication flow throughout the facility
  • Must demonstrate excellent leadership, communication, and team building skills
  • Strong business acumen (management principles, strategic planning, critical thinking, budgeting, resource allocation, human resources, etc.)
