Privately held lighting US based manufacturer with corporate offices in Houston, Texas is seeking a Business Development Manager reporting to the VP Sales. This is a world-wide 36-year-old specialty lighting company producing high intensity lighting applications for towers, wind farms, building tops, marine off shore riggings, and including wireless communications lighting.

 

Under the direction of the VP of Sales, the Business Development Manager shall develop new business in a number of sectors. Utilizing your sales and technical skills, you will be a key member of a team focused on expanding the companys business.

As the successful candidate you will be able to develop and execute a plan that will optimize revenue generation by further penetration of existing accounts, whilst creating new opportunities in mid-tier accounts either geographically or sector focused.

Duties & Responsibilities

Manage and grow revenues in a number of existing accounts

Maintain a minimum gross margin for all projects sold

Follow up and close leads generated by the company’s marketing and internal sales teams

Through your new business solution based selling approach, identify and engage tactically within organizations to develop new business opportunities both within target accounts, assigned sectors and geography

Demonstrate our solutions either remotely or onsite to our global prospects

Identify the needs of our customers, at a business level and conduct initial discovery calls and propose solutions as appropriate. Respond to RFP/RFQ documents as required

Consistently meet and exceed your quarterly and annual sales targets

Represent the company at trade shows, conferences and exhibitions

Accurately forecast sales pipeline

Maintain accurate records in the company’s CRM system

Qualifications

Strong written and oral communication skills, including presentation skills.

Demonstrated ability to interface with and influence with senior level executives Professionalism Rapport/trust building skills.

Strong prospecting/opportunity skills. Innovative in selling and servicing approach.

Comfort with a technical sell, with ability to understand the product applications.

Bachelors degree or relevant industry/selling experience preferred.

Strong strategic thinker with solid technical skills.

Solid interpersonal skills; specifically including engaged listening and acknowledging skills, as well as questioning and discovery skills.

Team Player; good conflict management /consensus building skills.

Problem solver. Uses good judgment and approaches opportunities strategically.
