NEW PRODUCT DEVELOPMENT (NPD) ENGINEERING MANAGER

 

JOB DESCRIPTION

  • Provide technical and professional leadership to a team of NPD Engineers
    • Design, develop, test and release safety products
    • Establish technical requirements documents
    • Utilize DFMEAs to lead development process
    • Develop and execute test and validation plans
  • Interface with customers to qualify and release product
  • Support and bring leadership to regular design reviews and peer reviews
  • Lead problem-solving and continuous-improvement activities
  • Provide interface leadership across Purchasing, Manufacturing & Quality competencies
  • Build alliances and processes that support a strong interface with ManufacturingEngineering to ensure robust DFM and product launches
  • Lead development teams by delegating work and prioritizing tasks
  • Drive accountability and ownership to support On-Time/Cost/Spec product execution
  • Establish and implement processes and procedures that improve product designefficiencies and reliability

QUALIFICATION

 

  • Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineer or Mechanical Engineering Technology
  • Minimum 10 years of restraints product development experience
  • Supervisory experience required
  • Knowledge of seat belts strongly preferred
  • Strong problem solving skills Six Sigma preferred
  • Experience using DFMEAs to drive design and validation requirements
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
